Marseilles Comprehensive Plan

Downloads about the plan and community survey are available below.

Marseilles Official Comprehensive Plan is intended to guide policy and provide recommendations for future land development and land preservation issues within the City of Marseilles and its one and one-half mile planning jurisdiction.

A comprehensive plan is a visionary document that describes what community members want the village to be in the future and charts strategies for achieving this.

Through public participation and stakeholder involvement the planning commission will shape a flexible document that forms a visionary, yet achievable basis for planning programs and development guidelines.

The Plan forecasts long-term economic, demographic, and physical activity anticipated over the next twenty to twenty-five years.

Five C’s of Comprehensive Planning

  1. Comprehensive and not a single element.
  2. Coordinated and not fragmented.
  3. Cooperative and not divisive.
  4. Consensus based and not special interests.
  5. Communicated and not ambiguous, generalized, or confusing.
