First Economic Development Summit Held May 11, 2007
The North Central Illinois Council of Governments held an Economic Development Summit Friday, May 11, 2007 at Celebrations 150, LaSalle. The summit was for local elected officials, economic development professionals and those interested in economic development for the region. Approximately 50 participants attended the summit.
Jerry Szatan founder and principal of Szatan & Associates will speak on what site selectors are looking for from a community and how to keep your community on the short list. Jerry has more than twenty-five years' experience in site selection, economic development, regional economics and real estate investing in the United States and abroad.
Other sessions topics included the importance of regionalism in economic development, economic development 101 – getting your community ready, survey results of area high school seniors regarding their future plans and Brownfield redevelopment.
