DCCA CDAP Program Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP)

CDAP Grant Descriptions and Deadlines

Program Description

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) administers the Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP).  It is a federally-funded grant program that assists Illinois communities by providing grants to local governments to assist them in financing economic development projects, public facilities and housing rehabilitation.  The program is targeted to assist low-to-moderate income people by creating job opportunities and improving the quality of their living environment.  Staff at NCICG write and administer these grants for applicants.

Who Can Apply

Units of general local government such as cities, villages, townships, and counties may apply for funding.  Local governments must have populations of 50,000 or less and must not be located in an urban county or the 31 cities that receive federal "entitlement" funds.

Application Process

Applications are to be submitted to DCEO by the deadlines noted in the grant descriptions below.  After receipt, applications are reviewed by program staff and rated according to criteria outlined in the program guidelines.  Staff recommendations are submitted to DCEO's Director for approval. A grant award document is then prepared and forwarded to the unit of local government.  For more information or to request application guidebooks, call (217)785-7546 or TDD (217)785-6055; or check out either the CDAP website or DCEO's website online.
